What is KAUx E- Training Platform?
King Abdulaziz University Electronic Platform for Massive Open Online Courses offers a variety of free courses in Arabic Language to those wishing to learn and develop their skills.
Through this platform, you will be introduced to a variety of courses in different fields, including human studies, human resource development, accreditation and quality standards in Saudi Universities, as well as the fields of educational development, entrepreneurship and others. Such courses will be presented by distinguished elite of KAU staff and others. We will introduce the content in a different form using HD picturing techniques, attractive illustrations and the most up-to-date model in the field of Electronic Training and Education; i.e. Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs).

Why had KAU launched the E-Training Platform KAUx?
Modern technology has developed many applications in the field of training and learning and as a result it has become a vital means of spreading science and knowledge. It also turned them into an interactive and creative environment that shall develop the trainee's skills using smart innovative ways, as never been available before in traditional training. Moreover, due to KAU's desire to take advantage of this rapid progress in online learning technologies, it established this platform to achieve the following purposes:
1. Spreading Science and Knowledge.
2. Enhancing KAU community responsibility through its contribution to providing training for community members.
3. Renovating training approaches that meet the requirements of beneficiaries from both inside and outside the University.
4. Developing the trainee's Hard skills and Soft Skills

What does the letter "x" refer to in KAUx?
The letter x in KAUx stands for "eXpanding" and eXperimenting, as the KAU seeks to expand the scope of its community services through providing free of charge training courses for those who aspire to learn. In addition, it aims at experimenting new learning patterns which might have the most significant impact in changing the future of university education methodology.

Our Concern
We are concerned with assisting trainees to learn in a better and quicker way through presenting our training courses on the platform. That is why our courses are carefully chosen and professionally designed, starting from selecting trainers, and ending with designing and developing the training material, putting into consideration the following effective educational methods:
• Outcome-Based Education (OBE): we develop the educational units based on Educationalist /Benjamin Bloom's Learning Outcomes, which shall help the trainees understand the whole subject perfectly before moving to a more advanced subject.
• Learning Effectiveness: the platform introduces training courses in an interactive environment that helps the trainees learn and acquire skills.
• Direct evaluation: the platform introduces a direct evaluation of the educational process through assignments, projects and various examinations.
• Indirect Evaluation: since courses are presented to a wide range of learners, peer trainees' evaluation by peer assessing and providing feedback for each other's activities, will be used as an additional means.

Who is in charge of the Platform Administration?
The Electronic training Unit in the Center of Teaching and learning at KAU supervises the Platform, develops it, designs courses and presents them on the Platform.
