On Thursday the 16th of Muharrm 1347, His Excellency the University President in Charge Prof. Abdulrahman Bin Obaid Al Youbi has approved the program proposal (University Professional Development Diploma for University Instructor) submitted by the Center of Teaching & Learning Development. The event was attended by His Excellency the Vice President of Development Prof. Dr. Abdelfattah Bin Suleiman Mashat, the Director of the Center Dr. Saad AlMasoudi, the Center’s Vice Director Dr. Arwa Jamjoum, and Dr. Bader Abdo Hakami. The Center’s Director has presented a detailed presentation about the University Professional Development Diploma for University Instructor. It was a comprehensive introductory training developmental program which supports newly-appointed faculty in fulfilling their role as university instructors by providing them with skills, knowledge, and basic principles in teaching. It also contains a detailed introduction about the program, its goal, outcomes and an action plan to apply it. The University President clarified that the program’s goal is to focus on the diversity of the university’s programs that aim to develop the faculty members’ skills and their duty performance with a professional way in their educational field; indicating that this kind of programs helps the faculty member to merge with the university educational environment. On his side, the Center’s Director clarified that the program seeks to improve the practical education outcomes; considering that the faculty member is the keystone in creating quality and building learning societies which contain experienced and qualified members that will have positive effects on the educational process, and this is through the continuous professional development in learning and teaching fields to serve the university’s goals..
